Public relations for Hollywood movies
It 's amazing the amount of money that Hollywood spends to promote its films and public relations efforts and seems to spend more on public relations and goodwill of the community then actually in advertising or marketing. Public relations, publicity stunts and get the actors to go on talk shows much help the film industry to promote their flicks. But public relations for Hollywood movies is not as easy as it seems, in fact, if done incorrectly can actually damage the film.
Of course the right amount of controversy also helps sell tickets until the dispute does not cross the taboos and provoking boycotts by groups of family type. Public relations specialists for Hollywood films earn far more than their counterparts in other sectors, and is a job of choice.
Hollywood insiders know what it all means and if they are able to promote the film and get free advertising and public relations in an appropriate manner, then win at the box office. Although the movie is not that good yet could reach $ 50 million weekend only through good public relations.
Of course, if the film is good there will be word-of-mouth advertising and after that even more people will see it. The goal is to get the first group of people to go see the film in Hollywood and then run around and say how great it was. Please consider all this in 2006 .......
