Background, Fundamentals of Transactional Analysis

Overview and Background Fortunately, there are many tools that would support its use in favor of personal growth, simply enter their content, interpreting its scope, properly handle its principles and thus can achieve better know, especially in our relationships. Currently all institutions are affected by the speed of technological advances and globalization, the first rise to those innovations which are obsolete today our disposal today, and the second determined by the incredible miracle of instant communication around the world is collapsing around the world the strongest cultures, ancient customs and habits changing, challenging parameters that seem immovable. Given this situation, interpersonal relationships, they feed the institutions have to rethink continuously, on other grounds, and through new approaches, the emergence of new parameters that govern the pace and way of life. As known in interpersonal relations requires that each person must find new ways to be known, understood, analyzed, re-structured in order to interact successfully and fruitfully with others who also have to address new forms to understand and predict their behavior.

As the mode and the result of interpersonal relationships come from mutual behavior, and they rely heavily on the attitudes, we must address the attitudes, their origin and processes, deeply planted in the structure and functioning of each person. But this requires a model and an underlying theory that supports and explains the model, model and theory should be simple, clear, objective, effective, and powerful. Its importance, scope, summarizes very well what Wikipedia tells brother, that transactional analysis is a system of individual and social psychotherapy is included within humanistic psychology. It was originated by psychiatrist Eric Berne in the 60 United States, who released his book Games People participate. Functionally, enables us to analyze the ways in which people interact through psychological transactions with their ego states Parent, Adult and Child, learning to use the former to provide care, the second and the third for individuals to seek and receive care, in our interaction with others, as well as ourselves, to grow in achieving an integrated personality. A deep level, leaving the script gives us psychological decided in childhood under the influence of parental and authority figures, but it was necessary to survive and we can still be following unconsciously.

Leaving the script, we also play games that reinforce psychological, and can then use integradoramente our ability to think, feel and act in the service of healthy living. Currently, starting from the initial focus of Eric Berne, known as Control Therapy

Background The main creator was Dr. Eric Berne (1910-1970), who organized a series of training sessions in the name of Social Psychiatry Seminars in San Francisco, California, where he shared, and participants developed the first concepts and applications of Transactional Analysis. This favored the writing of three fundamental articles of Transactional Analysis, "Intuition, the image of me," "Ego States in Psychotherapy" and "Transactional Analysis: A new and effective method of group therapy." This theory is introduced and developed in Argentina by Dr. Roberto Kertesz, who in 1960 began his psychiatric practice. At that time analyzed with Pichon Riviere and followed the guidelines of psychoanalysis at the time. This he did find another theoretical direction until in 1968 got the book "The game you play," though he already knew Eric Berne's ideas through a colleague. With this book, and clinical experience developed a viable method with which he began to work, losing half of their patients who did not really want to make changes. In 1968 he formed the first group of Transactional Analysis study in Argentina. The Fourth International Congress of Group Psychotherapy in Vienna met Dr.

Berne and his team. In 1980 in Buenos Aires was founded the International Society of New Behavioral Sciences. Later, in 1965, this seminar became the ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association), in order to promote understanding of transactional analysis as well as provide education and training for the application of the theory. Fundamentals Transactional Analysis is a sophisticated psychological theory of personality and human relations based on the analysis of ego states (the Father, the Adult and Child), transactions, psychological games, scripts of life, which applies for growth and personal or organizational change in many areas. This uses Transactional Analysis information on how people interact and transact with each other, from each of the states of I, analyzing these interactions. And it is through treatment contracts can help people to correct dysfunctional and unproductive patterns of daily behavior that we call games and in doing so help people to abandon forms of interaction for deeply held great time, and that are harmful and self-limiting . Transactional analysis examines the person and their behavior through an approach that is based on four major aspects: 1 .- The operation interpersonal, relational, communication, studied by analyzing the communication units, which we call transactions 2. - The structure of time in each interpersonal relationship, the need for recognition, acceptance, belonging, and at the same time guard against the "invasion" of others: Isolation, rituals, activities, hobbies, Psychological Games, and intimacy.

3 .- The Life Script or argument, decided in early childhood from what we call "early decision" that governs our automation, our personality styles, our patterns of thoughts, feelings, attitudes and behaviors. 4 .- The structure and intra-personal functioning, with so-called "States of Self." Ego States and Transactions: The interactions of the people are composed of transactions, which are formed by: the stimulus and response. Individual transactions were part of a larger series. Some of these series or sequence of transactions can be direct, productive or healthy or can be further useless and unhealthy. Among the interactions people do from one of three different ego states. An ego state is a specific way of thinking, feeling and behaving and each ego state has its origins in specific brain regions. People can act from the Parent ego state or from his or Child ego state adult ego state. And at all times our actions come from one of these three ego states. Child: We act as the child we once were. The ego states are fully experienced states of being.

El Niño has all the feelings, fear, love, anger, joy, sadness, shame, etc.. El Niño is often blamed as the source of the problems of people because it is self-centered, is emotional, powerful and resists the suppression that comes with growing. The Father: The person in this state thinks, feels and drives like a parent or someone who took his place, decide without reason, react to situations, what is good and bad, and how people should live. The Father judges for or against and can be controlled or support. When Father is critical is called the Critical Parent. When supports are called Nurturing Parent. Adult: When the person is in the Adult ego state uses logical thinking to solve problems, works like a human computer. Opera in the data it collects and stores or uses to make decisions according to a program based on logic. The Adult computes all the data you feed it. If the data are current, then the answers will be conducive Adult and more effective than solutions of the Father. If the data is incorrect Adult computer will produce wrong answers.

A very important function is to predict outcomes of Adult and provide fact-based criticism of the effectiveness of the behavior of people in the pursuit of goals they chose. This critical function is based on facts different from the function values based on Critical Parent. Sometimes the Adult uses information that originates in the Child or Father and that may be incorrect. This is called contamination. When contamination comes from the Father is called prejudice. The same information is not collated acceptance can occur with information provided by the Child in which case it is called delusion. A delusion is generally accepted as reality Adult. · Stewart, I. and Joines, V. (2007). AT TODAY. A new introduction to Transactional Analysis. Madrid. Editorial CCS. · Manual Transactional Analysis.
