Clean roof adds instant appeal to Curb sellers
With the housing market experiencing its worst crisis for many years, those with a house sale are looking for creative ways to differentiate their home from the rest. Some will go the usual route of having the interior painted, some attempts have been made to beautify the landscape, while others will actually go so far as to remodel bathrooms or kitchens. But it rarely comes to mind to homeowners that their colored roof covered in algae is likely to contribute to scare buyers away.
Try to imagine what it means for a potential buyer pulling into the driveway of a house that is beautiful in every way except for a greater flaw: the roof is completely covered in a sort of mystery "black stuff". They are going to think to themselves that the roof has some major problems and may also be necessary (although in reality it just needs a good cleaning). Mentally, I will calculate the cost of a new roof before you even set foot in the house! How terrible is that for curb appeal? The vendors can not afford to be so careless as the exterior of their house looks, especially when it is a structural feature important as a roof. That rotten "first impression" that potential buyers are most often overwhelm any improvements or features that are found inside the house. Stains on the roof can also capture the attention of a home inspector who might decide to make negative comments on it to buyers, which in turn may decide to reduce their offer.
The answer, of course, is to hire a professional to clean the roof, which uses safe, not against the methods. That $ 300 to $ 700 that you spend to get the roof clean could earn an extra $ 5,000 or more when it comes time to sell as a result of higher perceived value, and does not take a financial wizard to understand that a return on such investments should be pursued .......
