Development of website for SEO - FTP Set Up Guide

Designing websites with SEO in mind should not be rocket science. Everything you need to accomplish this can be learned online, and with the assistance of some books. I plan to write a series of articles showing you how to set up your WordPress blog, and optimize for SEO. This article is FTP set-up, and installing a theme SEO optimized.

Assuming you already have your domain and hosting set up, we're going to go directly to the File Transfer Protocol. If you have not set up your hosting you need to do first and make sure you get a web hosting company with Fantastico. This is a program offered by some companies select few web hosting that allows you to configure WordPress with a few clicks.

Once you have WordPress set up that you are going to need your FTP software. I use Filezilla, and can be found with a quick Google search. Just download and go through the setup steps as with any other program. Once installed, the initial set-up for transfers will be required. After the first time you remember the password and you can link to your website with ease.

Go to your control panel in your web hosting account and try to create FTP accounts. If this is your first time doing this leave empty directory, and just put in your domain, username and password. I set my quota unlimited. Click enter and you set your FTP account. Once you click on submit, will give you the information you need to access your account. Copy and paste this into a document and save it to your desktop.

Open Filezilla, and in the top left, under File if you cover over the button will say Open Site Management. Click on this. This will open the window manager of the site, with options to set your FTP account new information. Open the document earlier, and enter information.

Host is the FTP server. Set the type of access to normal, and enter your user name and password. Account Name something that you can remember your site. If my site was I would call it mysite.com mysite. After compiling all the information with what you saved on your document, click connect.

After clicking the link you will see four large quadrants on the interface. Computer folders, computer files, folders and file servers. These are important because you can work around this position. You can also drag and drop from the desktop.

The themes that I recommend are listed with the resources on my site free marketing training and development of websites for SEO.

To install the theme, refer to the big box on the upper right of your remote site. This server folder. Click to open the folder and scroll to the public html. Click on the content and then WP themes. The dial in the folders of your file server is the server. Will already be installed by default WordPress themes, classic and default. What you want to do is find the theme you have downloaded through the process to the left, or open on your desktop, and drag and drop file server in the dial. Once setup is complete you are ready to go and activate the theme to WordPress.

This is the first step towards developing the website for SEO. Now you are ready to customize the options for SEO .......
