In late III - Street Lights

After thinking and reading you want to start running away, really. You could start, but you're not sure what is the best way, so that it becomes the sticking point. Why do not you want to tie your shoes and run out the door. You did a couple of times over the years and did not end well. This time we want to make a good start. Basically you want to be a runner. You want it bad.

What makes some runners keep running for years, while so many other start and stop, start and stop, until I finally just quit? One of the hardest things to convince a non runner of is the mental aspect of racing. Almost everyone knows the hand pain, sorrow and first bubbles. As can be mental? Does this sound familiar: you finally decide to run. You can set your goal to 2 miles. You go and somehow finish the whole 2 miles, and the next day you can barely walk. No amount of preaching will convince the mental aspect of running away.

Let in this way. First, of course, consult your doctor. Always, without exception. Secondly, buy a pair of running shoes at moderate prices. The first day, set aside 30 minutes. Get out on the road in front of your house and start walking. Walk for about 5-10 minutes. Now, look at the street light in the distance. The street lights are good because of their distance, but it can equally well use houses, poles, whatever. With your goal in sight, starting to run very slowly, not much faster than we were walking. At your goal, the street light, start walking again. Walk 2 street lights, and then start running again for the next one. Remember, do it slowly. Try not to get out of breath. If you're huffing and puffing, you're going too fast. So now you have the routine. Walk 2 lights, 1 run. Continue for 10-15 minutes. If you're tired, just stop running and the portions were walking home. The entire session should not last more than 20 minutes. This is your birth as a runner. It is recommended to repeat this exercise for a total of 3-4 times a week. After a couple of weeks, try to extend the light that goes from 1 to 2. Gradual increases in the course of a period of six weeks will be running more and walk less. Pain, blisters and all bad things should be minimal. Be patient. You've waited years to start running. The lamps will turn into quarter mile and half quarters. Sooner than you think, you run an entire mile without stopping. I did not say effortless. The race is increasingly difficult to walk. This is another reason why we are so proud to call ourselves runners.

After the first mile, a mile is. How many miles it is to you, because for you, running has become mental. When you will be able to call yourself a runner? My friend, when you reach your light the first street, you are a runner ....
